Let me tell you mine...

Before you share your story...

My name is Menka (pronounced: Men-ka); I’m 28 years old, a passionate photographer, avid reader, and proud cat-mom (because of course I'll mention my babies).

I've always adored looking through old photographs; particularly ones of old family weddings. I loved the cringey Bollywood music overlayed onto unscripted moments. My style of photography is exactly that - candid.

I love capturing those goofy grins and heartfelt moments between loved ones! So if this rings true to you, then I'm ya gal x

I understand feeling uncomfortable taking photos! So I promise to make you feel at ease during this process. I want our time together to be wonderful for both parties - so rest assured that I will be your #1 hype gal

A little bit about me:

Photography is something I started when I was 16. My first camera was a gift from my lovely Ma, who passed away in 2024. Losing her made me realise that one of the only things we have of our loved ones is their photos. Thus, Sherni Creative was born (more about that below).

I work full time as a government advisor, but photographing engagements and weddings is my happy place (yes, I am really this sappy). Why? I can't actually articulate it. I just know that between photographing an engaged couple who are so happy and loved-up, to documenting a wedding with all its beautiful emotions - my heart always feels full.

To be able to do this well, I love getting to know about my couples - which is why I always start my process with a simple coffee or video call with you both first. Getting to know the two of you gives me a sense of who you are, and what is important to you. This process is extremely important to me. Not only do I get to know you, but it helps me build, and therefore photograph, an authentic representation of you!

Engagements and weddings are arguably two of the biggest moments of a person's life - and to be able to photograph them is such a privilege. So, if you do choose me, thank you from the bottom of my heart x

Sherni Creative

Sherni (pronounced: sher-nee) means lion in Hindi. Ma was, and will always be, my Sherni. And when life got tough for me, she'd always remind me that I was a daughter of a Sherni. This is my ode to her.

So rest assured that no matter what, I will always do my best for you because this is more than a business to me - it's a labour of my love.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️Just one last thing 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Sherni Creative is a safe place and I practice inclusive photography. I welcome people of all genders, sexualities, religions, abilities, origins and backgrounds. If this isn't something you align with, I am not the photographer for you.

As a queer person, this a fundamental belief that I, and my brand, stand by.

You are safe here. You belong here. Your story matters to me.
